Living A Restful Life

Is it possible to live a restful life with all the stresses and burdens that pressure us and cause us unrest?

I have been living, what I would consider to be a peaceful life. Is there a difference in living a restful life? A few days ago, a friend sent me words of encouragement from his Encouragement Challenge For 52 days.. This is his 2017 project to encourage and inspire others in their Christian walk.

The heading was” Rest Is A Weapon”..Day 3 of our Encouragement Challenge For 52 days

We are endeavouring to build each other up. Taking a few minutes out of our day to put someone else first.

Matthew 11:29…Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

He sent me a quote from Graham Cooke’s website http://brilliantperspectives.com/rest-is-a-weapon “The enemy cannot penetrate your rest if you are practicing it as a lifestyle.” You can read the full meditation through the linked website.

As I lay in bed this morning, thinking about, rest in God, I thought about Debbie-name chosen randomly- who has marrital problems, financial issues, a depressive personality and is conciously over-weight, can she find rest,? Her husband has difficulty keeping a job, drinks to try and forget his/their problems and may also have a depressive personality, can he find rest? I get a resounding yes, however; I have my reservations and fears that I have to deal with in reaching out to them. Time to pray…

Jesus said….in Matthew 11:29-29

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

A thought in progress…

Be Blessed As YOU Rest

Steve
